When I lived in London, away from close friends and family, it felt overwhelming, disorientating but also exciting.
Like a chameleon that develops certain adjustment mechanisms, to adapt to his urban jungle environment, I was also trying to deal with new situations; in short I was trying to find ‘My Piece In The Puzzle.’
This sculpture is inspired by a novel by Paul Auster: ‘The New York Trilogy.’ In a wider sense it reminded me on a state of depression and dissociation. Within the process of healing, it is important to diagnose symptoms and accept them in order to heal them.
It’s important to accept yourself, and befriend your mental health issue; open up, share your story with someone and be connected.
