Cookies Didn’t Cure Me

“I’ve been in recovery for 8 years now but it’s been a long road coming. For as long as I can remember I’d always had eating issues with most foods but it was always candy that really didn’t do it for me.
Now imagine you’re 6 years old and you don’t like candy, you’d think people would notice right? Teachers? Mom, dad, sister, brother? Nope it was like no one wanted to realise I had an issue so young. I think looking back that was the hardest thing, it was the acceptance of the people around me (or lack of it). This is why I made this Jiggsaw. Mom used to go out and buy me cookies like it would cure whatever I had wrong with me. It still angers me to this day because she is still in denial.”
