Don’t Be A Fake

“All my friends were doing it, so I thought it was no big deal.

All the girls are obsessed with what they look like where I live.

Hair extensions

Fake lashes

Fake tan

Fake boobs

Lip fillers

My friends have them all. I felt the odd one out, so I saved up to get my lips done. I thought it would give me a bit more confidence.

It hasn’t, in fact everything I do to change myself, makes no difference. I still feel rubbish about myself.

I don’t know why we all want to change ourselves all the time. It’s so easy to get swept up with what everyone else is doing, I just thought it was normal.

I’m 23, but if I ever have children, I don’t want them to grow up thinking that what they look like on the outside, matters more than what’s on the inside.

Growing up on social media is shit.”
