I found this hanging on a wall outside a creperie on a recent trip to Paris.
In my anorexic days, I wouldn’t have found it remotely funny and would have taken offence, but I actually laughed out loud when I saw it.
Mental illness is pretty heavy most of the time, and we often forget to laugh or smile. Eating disorders are serious for sure, but I also think there is value in humour at times.
Laughter and comedy have often been a huge tool in my recovery…it’s about letting go of the rigidness of life, and allowing yourself to enjoy the bigger picture…the bigger piece of the ‘Jiggsaw.’
